The Dooley Blues played BallyDoyles Irish Pub on Friday, April 8th, 2005. The Band members are so grateful to the 500 plus fans who showed up to watch the performance. There were many fans who normally show up who had prior commitments and everyone was expecting to have 2/3rds of Ballydoyles filled. It was humbling to look out onto so many happy faces, standing shoulder to shoulder, filling every seat, lining the stage 5 deep! It inspired the Dooley Blues to give their most exciting, captivating performance yet. Thank you so much to all the fans who gave us the opportunity to perform for them. To some of our fans who invested their time and emotions on Friday into the Cubs Opening Game extra inning loss, our condolences. Thank you for allowing us to cheer you up and put the Cub loss in perspective.

We had a special guest show up, Father Tom Mescal, a regular Celebrant at the Poor Clare Chapel in Lemont, Illinois. He is a dear friend of the Dooley family and made a special effort to swing by Ballydoyles after being the host of Leo High School's Grand Reunion. Father Tom was ordained a priest in 2004 and Dooley members were fortunate enough to attend his first weekday Mass at the Poor Clare Monastery. Father Tom ended up staying to hear Boom Boom and sang along to "Got My MOJO Working" along with the rest of the audience!

Franny McGurk and his sister MaryBeth, along with their charming and delightful spouses attended as did a Hickey contingent, Noreen and Dave and Colleen and Ken. Mike Dooley, a noted Rock drummer from the 60s, couldn't attend but his gorgeous twin daughters, Megan and Amy and their husbands, Bill and Greg, were causing a frenzy in the audience. The twins have turned down numerous offers to model and become professional actresses so they could pursue their careers as primary school teachers at an inner-city school. They will always be our heroes! The great James "homey" Sims was on hand and it is a privilege to report that his shoulder is responding to treatment and we are expecting him to sit in with us soon!

When the Dooley Blues were playing "Boom Boom", Chris Dooley was playing and dancing out in the audience. Three lovely ladies spontaneously came on stage and were "shake dancing" for the crowd. The excitement reached a fever pitch!

We want to again thank our fans for making Friday an unforgettable evening, one the Dooley Blues will cherish forever!

As an early 'heads up", please mark your calendars for the Dooley Blues upcoming show at Heritage Festival of Downers Grove on June 24th! It will be at 400pm at the main stage located next to the Beer Tent. Other performances are planned as well!
